We are El Hogar Animal Sanctuary, the first animal sanctuary in Spain. During the last few years we have been located in Catalonia, on the lands that a foundation bought for the 200 animals that we have rescued, cared for and protected.
Now, after breaking away from the foundation, we have to leave these lands and build a new sanctuary in less than a year. This entails a lot of expenses, and that is where you come in.
If you love animals and can make a donation so that these 200 inhabitants of our sanctuary are not left homeless, please join this campaign because every euro counts.
We need to buy lands on which each animal, given the advanced age and special needs of some of them, may adapt and be happy.
The lands cost about 300,000 € and we have to move the 200 animals, which means a huge ex-pense in transport. In addition, we have to work hard before their arrival to prepare the land and make it safe. This also implies a huge economic investment.
We will have to build quarantine parks, parks to separate some groups of animals according to their needs, make lakes for ducks and pigs and, first and foremost, fence the entire perimeter to ensure their complete safety.
